Went to Gatorland with two co-workers this past weekend. Fantastic weather and plenty of activity. Here are a few of my faves. All taken with the D2X and 300/f4 AF-S handheld.

Beautiful afternoon light hitting the trees creates beautiful water reflections. (No funny color manipulations...actual colors)

Lovely series Kevin. Sharp, well composed and great colors. It's interesting that the lighting gives the Gator a bluish tint (at least to me)

Nice series, Kevin. You are lucky to live so close to Gatorland. I think tht's my favorite place to shoot. Too bad it cost $$$$. Maybe a 'gator camo suit and we could sneak in? headscratch.gif:D

Great detail on the tri-colored Kevin. I must be blind because I just realized where I had seen these before 11doh.gif .

Thanks Steve! The best way I can describe it is the angle I was shooting from took advantage of the late afternoon sun hitting the trees on the opposite side of the water causing the intense green reflection in the water. Since the gator was wet from being somewhat submerged, the water on him reflected the clear blue of the sky above him. I was surprised once I saw them on my monitor. It's one of the reasons I really enjoy shooting at Gatorland. I discovered this effect quite by accident. Now I look for it intentionally. mwink.gif

Thank you Mike! Yeah, Gatorland is one of my favorite places to shoot. You know they have an annual pass for $46 incl tax that's good for 12 months. Quite a deal, if you ask me.

Sorry Nick! Right now it's easier to "dupe" post. Once my transition to Canon is complete, I'll avoid doing that in the future. mwink.gif

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Good shots, Kev! I belong to both, and I post mostly on dGrin put also on Canon, same shots.

    Lots of people do that.

Wonderful shots! I love how you did the lighting maneuver. I envy you gatorland!

ginger (Yeah, here in Charleston, SC, I have annual passes. If I lived there I would have one to Gator Land in a heartbeat. I would assume that you do, too!)

Hi Ginger and thanks! Yeah, I guess it's ok to post multiple places. Not everyone is members everywhere. mwink.gif

You bet I got an annual pass to Gatorland. Best $40 I've spent!

Would love to come up there again and shoot the "old south". Drove through to Myrtle Beach but never got to stop at Charleston.
