Hello,

So I decided to blow out my website and start over and there are 2 things I always wanted to do and that is have password protected galleries for clients to access and have a pretty slick contact page where when they enter the data and hit submit, they are done.

It seems like there are a lot of good website developers here so if you know how to help me and would like to help me, let me know. I have a windows based web server with Go Daddy.

I have everything else figured out as of right now :)

I don't have a smugmug account. I've never gotten a real introduction into the benefits of smugmug so I created my own flash galleries and other stuff the older school way.

I have a few every day name companies as customers, so I was looking for something very clean. Do you have an example of how this functionality was incorporated using smugmug?

well smugmug can do password protected galleries that only your clients can access should you give them the password. and i'm not sure about the contact page. you would have to ask Mike about that one.

but smugmug does have its advantages.mwink.gif

EDIT: andy beat me to the reply.... just look at those links. theres some amazing galleries there.

I'm sorry, I meant examples of the password protected galleries.

I have seen a lot of very cool smugmug galleries and integrations into "normal" domains. Like that Moonriver something or another :)

Daniel, I'm sure smugmug has a lot of advantages since its very popular. The true test of a product is how well it is accepted :)

Since the jeopardy music is playing, can I assume I can have a different account for each folder? So if I am working on stuff for 5 companies over a 2 week period, each one can have a secure login and page?

I believe the end of the song is coming up :)

If you would still like to see a password protected gallery(s), shoot me a PM and I'll get you the password to my family and friends galleries. You can see how they look now without the password. http://jimmitte.smugmug.com/

Contact page with a submit button

    Hi Bob,

I've got a contact page with a submit button. It doesn't do much more than sign folks up on my mailing list, but you can put in whatever funtionality you like behind your submit button.

    http://www.trishtunney.com/gallery/1090220

Also, as an alternative to password protected galleries, I send my clients links to private galleries. It's a personal taste, but I don't like the look of galleries that you can't get to. And ultimately what do you do when you have 500 clients? It's hard to keep a tidy page then! :-)

    cheers!
    Trish

You can download a complete database driven gallery from http://coppermine-gallery.net/index.php

It has an option for as many password protected albums as you like. It has many more options and the layout can be customized aswell by changing stylesheets. I've been using it for a couple of months now and I like it a lot.
