#2 is a good shot for the challenge. It looks the most B&W except for the sole of his shoe. I like #1 too but it has the look of a color shot. #3 works but I would probably crop the bottom 1/4 of the frame. And re-looking at them, choosing between #2 and a cropped #3 would be a tough pick. #3 is growing on me!
I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

Good idea for the challenge
I agree with John, 2 or cropped 3. I just dragged my browser window down so that the bottom edge of 3 was just below the first full square and it looked very good.
It took me a while to find the color in #2, that says "winner" in my mind. I can see what folks are saying about cropping #3, personally I'd take it up high enough to remove the little arrow shapped bit on the right. But that still leaves it with 2 colors I think, the beige of the step and the blue of the skirt... from that point, I'd probably go for #2 myself.

Actually, in #3 her entire outfit was black, there is no blue.
hmm... to my eyes on my screen it's a deep navy maybe. Average of H240, S65, B6 for the skirt says photoshop spot eyedropper. I guess with so little color in the image, the eyes just make it seem like more. I swore it was far more blue than that when I was looking at it before. But then I'd think that just makes it all the stronger for this challenge doesn't it?

I thought about a picture in the street....but I was going to try and catch one of those yellow reflectors in the center line.
Did you give that a whirl?
