Need help identifying please.

I have been watching these birds for quite some time....at this time I only have a 200mm lens and these guys are rseting in trees across a small lake (approx 100+yds).

Look totally black, have clawed feet (ipresume since that congregate in the trees ), what seems to be a duck type bill and like to sit in the water also.

    Yes these are comorants, these are facinating birds to watch they fish like crazy, hope you don't mind me posting these shots to clear things up a bit, you definently are handicaped with a 200mm.

    Yep...cormorants would be my guess. They are interesting birds. Not the most graceful on takeoff and landings, though. umph.gif

    Wow Thanks everyone and I don't mind yoour pics...I got to see what it is I was trying to shoot....they took over the tree that a baldy had bee perched in....couldn't get close enuff to him either....so puttin' those pennies back for a 500 lens....

    Any of you use mirror lenses?
