I agree with you about the lack of color. The first 2 (especially #2) almost look like Adobe RGB files I believe you might be more pleased with how these look if you add some saturation in post. Apply any of the coloring actions (velvia, provia, 10D Finisher Subtle Color) or even use a warming Photo Filter to bring out those brown feathers and to give the foliage some color.
I used a 90% velvia action, Subtle color AND 25% Warming Filter (85) on the above. I think it gives the image quite a bit more depth too.

No problem! I appreciate you taking the time. Since I am one of those Corel users, I will go about this a differant way. I use iCorrect EditLab plugin to do the things you mentioned. I agree that your edit is more pleasing. The truth is that there really wasn't much color in reality due to the landscape this time of the year and the fact that it was noontime.
