So last week some of the best slackliners in the world converged on Red Rocks, just outside of Las Vegas (yeah I know, we're a small group and it's not hard to get the best together :rofl) to rig some highlines and take part in the festivities, and I was priveliged to have a part. Here's a few favorites of mine from the event. Let me know what you think, and enjoy!

If you want more, the rest of my 37 pics are al here: http://www.gourp.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=235

Kicking it off by scoping out potential places to rig highlines.

those are some neat shots Coldclimb - I love the angles in some of them. I like Cobin's shadow walkding with him and in the shot w/ Larry, it really emphasizes what they're walking over. Nice jobthumb.gif

I highly recommend checking out the whole gallery, there's more great shots inside. thumb.gif Cool stuff, CC.

I love the one of the reclining guy in the cowboy hat, not sure why but I do. And the Buddha Sit... what can I say but OW! I can see where slacklining could be fun, but I gotta draw the line at the Buddha Sit!

Thanks! The cowboy hat one really shows the spirit of the sport, just hanging out and relaxing in the mountains with good friends. It's no wonder they call people who walk slacklines "slackers". :D

The buddha sit is tricky, but there's ways to do it that aren't too bad. ;)

Wow, that's just insane! Great stuff. I enjoyed the whole gallery. I occassionally see slackliners at UCLA, but they fall a *lot* from only 3-4 feet up.

hahaha! many climbers opt for colorful clothing. don't they?

too bad about the pants tho. except for the color, they looked pretty comfy.

Aww they're so easy to fix even I can do it. I bought them on the beach in Thailand, which accounts for their poor quality and oddness. The seams seem to be rather weak. I actually ripped the crotch out while pulling through a boulder problem last year... poor spotters. rolleyes1.gifJust a couple minutes with the sewing machine and they're as good as new though.

Thanks a lot for the comments everyone, I'm glad you like the pics! :):

crazy! very good rare shots, ive never seen pictures like these before
It's weird that photographers spend years or even a whole lifetime, trying to capture moments that added together, don't even amount to a couple of hours.

great set dude! I think slacklining is something I could get into, lot less dragging of trad gear and more "hanging" around with friends lol3.gif

and I can relate to the genuine alaskan skin color, we get that here in New England too. I felt like a tube of toothpaste when I was out in the yard for the first time this year shirtless and in shorts!

Top photo's as usual ColdClimb. The shot give off a good sense of the height these lines are set at especially with the shadows and small peoples.
    Nice work mate. thumb.gif

By the way, love the green pants I know exactly where you got them... Tonsai or Railay. I own a few pairs myself!
    May I take your picture?

Hehehe, I've only seen him lose one. It was after we had already made an excursion into the hole, so we didn't want to do all the work again just for his hat. In this case you can walk down into the bottom of the canyon though, so no worries.

Railay it was! Incredible place, and next time I go I'm going to stock up on cool pants. I didn't get enough last time. thumb.gif

Thanks again for the comments everyone, it's always cool to see that someone likes my stuff! Now to try to decide which ones are good enough to go on my website. Always tough after trips like this.
