Heard on the news this morning that this has been the 2nd driest March on record in central Pennsylvania; and Feb wasn't any better. Not as green as it normally is. Wish it would rain!

Taken with one of the world's worst lenses. Sigma 70-300 super zoom II. Slow focus, not very sharp, bad bokeh, low contrast. I don't use it very often. I bought it pre-dslr after I dropped a Nikon 70-210. I wasn't shooting film very often so I replaced the Nikon with a cheap Sigma. I'm saving for a 70-210 2.8 VR. Then this one will be promptly disposed of.

But it works okay in high contrast situations like this.

Generous PS post processing on this shot.

I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

Very effective shot John. It as an ethereal quality to it.

Very nice shot. I like the flowers in the foreground and black background. For the worlds worst lens it did a very good job on this shot. Only thing I might change is to straighten it out a bit but that's just personal preferance.

Here in northern california were having the most wet march since 1906, wanna trademwink.gif

With all the rain we should have a VERY green spring here shortly.

Wow, I was so busy working on the PS technique that I totally missed the fact that she is leaning bad. I think she is leaning in the garden too! Maybe my eyes are skewed also.

I fixed her but it required cropping out quite a bit. I probably need to go back to the raw file and start over. I've got more uncropped frame to work with.

Now I know who's stealing my rain! Give it back. :):

My father is arriving for a visit from Utah on Tuesday. Coming from the high desert, he'll never believe me when I tell him of our dry spring. He'll just tell me to turn on my automatic sprinklers (which don't exist in our georgraphy!) to green up the lawn!
