McDonald's All American Basketball Team
I'm not really a sports shooter, but I want to share my excitement over my niece making the All American Team and being named MVP in the game that the West Team won on March 29. Her name is Jayne Appel and she will be attending Stanford University.
I tried my best to capture a few moments. This was my first try at sports shooting. I used ISO 800 so I wouldn't need a flash. I used AI Servo focus and my 55-200 f/4.5 lens set on AV. Sometimes the shutter speed was pretty slow, but a lot of the blur was due to my inexperience.
Just a few bragging pics from the proud aunt. More here
Thanks for looking.

Thanks Sid and Colleen. I'm so proud of my niece. She's a good student as well as a good athalete. And she's a sweet girl and pretty to boot. A scholarship to Stanford is really something.
It was a very exciting game. The boys game was, of course, more physical and hard driving. They had co-MVPs and one was another Californian from right here in Carlsbad, Chase Budinger. He will be attending the University of Arizona. I think I have a shot or two of him too.
