Here are a couple of shots using my 100 2.8 with 68mm of extension rings. These guys are so small I had a hard time figuring out which end was the head end!

    Thomas,

You and Lord V. should sponsor some sort of trans-continental Macro support group. (OK, I just made that up.)

These shots are very, very cool. There really is a strange and largely undiscovered world of Macro and Micro photography.

    Thanks,

Whoa. I sold my 100 2.8 because it was too hard. And you just went Tiger Woods on me. Nice job!

Very nice Thomas. The second bug looks like a lobster mated with a grasshoper.

    Thanks guys.
Ziggy, I'm still trying to catch up with LV. He has inspired me to try harder still.

David, they will have to pry it from my cold dead hands. Math is hard, macro is easy, well, not easy, but really fun. Don't even have to leave home. The key discovery for me was the diffused off camera flash.

    Thanks Nick.

Yes, Daniel, that is a daddy-long-legs, not a spider I'm told, but still an aranchnid I thinkheadscratch.gif .

    Excellent shots Thomas,
Guess you are finding out shooting above 1:1 brings a whole new set of delights and problems :)
Think #2 is an assassin bug nymph judging by other pics I have seen.

Ohhhhh yes you are well and truly hooked aren't you rolleyes1.gif
I bet you walk around these days just looking for bugs and tiny things hu rolleyes1.gif
The Extensions really come in handy don't they, and you can use them on larger lenses that have focusing distance not as close as you'd like to allow you to focus closer too :D Skippy (Australia)

Thanks LV and Skippy. I have enjoyed trying to learn the highter ratio techniques. I do like to put the extensions on my 300 2.8 and play as well.
