    There's another thread around here about moon shots, you can search for it and see what some of the other guys have come up with too.

    Thanks for the nice words! I'll search for the moon thread. I also have a sun filter, but I'm having a hard time focusing the camera on those shots. I need some more practice.

    One of these days I'm going to try out the scope and camera during the day for some terrestrial viewing.
    A moon filter is a filter that reduces the glare and amount of light reflected off the moon. It attaches to the eyepiece of the telescope. Here's an example of what it does (from Telescope.com).

    The melloney looking shot, further down from the moon shots, is actually the sun. That one does look like a mellon!
