ISO 1600 on a 10D???? with an Acceptable photo!? lol.. i've been told it wasn't true. but i give you my first example now.

NO PP done minus a touch of sharpening, but no levels, or curves or anything else besides the frame.

i had 3 lamps shining on it. one from across the room *quite bright* my room light, and another lamp from about 2 feet away.

well slap me silly and call me susan

now to spoil your fun: you admit yourself you had a lot of light - the bad sorts of high ISO noise really only manifests when you are in a dark situation and trying to push it with a high ISO. You have a colorful well lit subject.

that, and I can still see lots of noise (see above, look anywhere in your shot where its dark). I wouldn't go printing that one too big.

but good work anyway. I like the compo and the mood, and no one ever said that a bit of noise was a terrible thing, in many cases it works.

Now get a tripod, use a lower iso and take it again. I really like it and think in this case woudl look better without the noise. Well done Daniel.

I agree with 4labs. This is a really great shot with nice composition and colors.
Do yourself a favor, get a tripod and shoot this one again at ISO 100.

All this talk about noise is boring. If it bothers you, use Neat Image / Noise Ninja / Noiseware, make sure you touch mostly the chromatic noise and leave the luminance noise alone, and you'll be fine. Your image will have a bit of a grainy in stead of a noisy look, and there's nothing wrong with that. And yes, I like the shot a lot.
