Wow! It looks like a portal opening in the sky. Great shot.

Looks like your horizon is slightly tilted, but that's just a nit... I certainly wouldn't be paying attention to my horizon line in that storm!

Excellent capture. How did you catch it?

We had some wild storms just go through here. (Sw Indiana) Lots of lightning, but with lawn chairs flying in 60mph winds I didn't go out and try to catch any pics.rolleyes1.gif

    Thanks so much Awais!!!!

Well Skippy, I am sure the tornados are just around the corner.......we are supposed to have more storms Tuesday and Wednesday.

Thanks Dani! I am sure y'all need rain there too. Hey I got my daughter an XT........do you know anything about the hack for it?

BTW tell AJ hello for me.

Thanks so much Dancinkate..........I hope the hail didn't do any damage....it was minimal here.

Thanks Dana. I got the tripod set up before the winds kicked in and the rain started. I set the iso at 200 or 400 (did some of both) and the apeture from f11 down to f8 (I switch a lot to see what I like best). Used the remote cable release to take a 25 second exposure like every 17 seconds. I.E. after the last exposure it waits 17 seconds then does a 25 second exposure, then starts all over again. Then when the rain starts pack it all up and go inside. Don't blame ya for not going out in that wind!!!

    Wally,

    Great shot!

As far as I know, there is no "hack" for the Canon dRebel XT (350D). The only one I am aware of is for the "original" dRebel, the 300D.

I shoot with an XT, so I wish I had an ISO3200 capability sometimes. I suppose an adjustable time for mirror-lockup might be possible as well. Other than that, it's pretty full featured and would require a major hardware change to implement the more significant improvements you find in other Canon dSLRs. (Spot metering, for example.)

If anyone knows otherwise, I'm all ears.

    Thanks,

Thanks so much Ian408, and you are right it was LOUD!!!

sser Thank you very much for the kind comment.

ziggy53, thanks so much and thank you for the info on the hack, I knew there was one for the rebel, but for some reason I was thinking there was also one for the xt which gave it fec, mirror lock up and iso 3200.......it must have been one heck of a dream.......lol. The xt is one heck of a camera anyway, my daughter is getting better with hers every day.

Sandy thanks for your comment, and yeah, scary movie for sure.

    iSpark, thank you!!!
