Heavy rain year for northern ca. We started early, during the downpour, but were soon greeted by breaks in the rain. This area is just before you reach the Redwood Theatre. Here's a three shot pan comp:

That's a good shot of the slug. Once I get over my initial repulsion, they are really kind of interesting. Yours is pretty clean. I found one alongside the road but it was covered with some pine needles.
