"The 3 stop advantage means that photographers normally shooting a 105mm lens handheld at 1/125 sec can obtain a shake free result with a shutter speed as low as 1/15 sec, for vastly extended options in low light conditions." in http://www.dpreview.com/news/0508/05082207canonlenses.asp

This lens is a favorite of many here - it has been reviewed and extensively discussed in the Canon 24-105L Review thread. Take a peek! I do not own this lens, but have used it a number of times and the IS really is great.
Now, I will go and see the link.

How do you do ?
One thing I like in pbase and miss in SmugMug is the photos organized by country, camera and lens data.
Regards.
The flag in Grand Central (it is there isn't it ?) is WONDERFULL. FANTASTIC.
My cameras is a 20D and a 350 D (for the moment)
The young girl is also a very good picture. Have done any unsharpmask ?
The thing is: My wife gets tired to carry the 24-70 f/2.8 all the time when I am using the 16-35 f/2.8. So this would be her lens. Moreover she likes to shoot portraits... and this lens is good, thought a little "dark"
Have you read (of course you have) the reviews in fredmiranda ?

Sure.

Here is a link to some test photos I have taken [4 pages of them] I was so impressed yesterday with some semi-macros with the 24-105, I think the cropped originals, no processing are outstanding for handheld:[including some f4-1/8 sec indoors.] Pg. 3 good also.
