Personally Thomas, I love it to be honest. The colours and the velvet look is excellent. The Pansy is amazing in macro, around the cetera right in the middle, are crystal like formations. Beautiful subjects for macro. Well done. Try flipping this vertically as well Thomas. So the yellow is at the bottom left. That might well help the eyes and the sense of thirds better......just IMHO.
Thanks everyone for the encouraging comments.
Mitch - I used my twin flash on brackets with the Lightsphere diffuser on the main light. I'll try and find a link to pic of my setup. There may be one in the macro tutorial thread.
Danny - Good to see you posting again. Lets see some shots.

Lovely photo. Great colors.
Maybe not so sharp/popping but i guess becouse of the subject that is what you where looking for .
The darker violet areas are, maybe, just a little to dark or my CRT display is not calibrated (and it's not :cry ).
IMHO.

This is nicely done. The artistic treatment does the subject well. Reminds me of that movie, "What Dreams May Come". Dark and dramatic.
Thanks,
