I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

Maybe we should start a special thread here at dgrin for people to upload shots they have taken of those who have passed away?? It could be friends or family, but keep it confined to people they actually knew & loved. Not really make it a sad & depressing thing, but as a tribute to the ones they loved.
Just a thought.
I am so sorry for your loss and the loss of your family. It is the secret fear of every parent that their children pass before them.
Please express my condolences to your family and others Ali was dear to. It is your photo and your story which allows us to experience some of his happiest moments, and now, his tragic ending. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Wishing your heart heals quickly,
