It's a palm tree about 50 yards from the Steinhatchee River on the Northern Florida Gulf Coast. I don't know what variety; there are so many. But this one you don't see often.
I didn't give the wire much notice when I took the picture, and it was a bit annoying later when I looked at it. So I decided that, instead of getting rid of it, making it a more central object--a statement on man's intrusion into nature.
