I recently bought a Duracell 15 minute charger that came with four AA 2400 mAh batteries. It was $28 at WalMart. This thing rocks. It really does charge that fast and I can charge all my other AA NiMH batteries in it too. It has a little fax that runs to cool the batteries as it charges. Here's a link with info: http://www.popphoto.com/article.asp?section_id=5&article_id=1757

It's not very compact, so not so great for travel...but man it does the job and quick!

energizer sells a similar product but for $15 more. the one you purchased from walmart has an even better price. i do wonder however, if by charging it quicker does it store the same amount of battery life compared to the chargers that take longer? i have a 5-hour chargeri use which works pretty well (i usually leave my batteries overnight to charge anyway), but a 15-minute charger sounds like if you're on the go and need 'quicky', its the best thing to have around.

have you done a comparison between the two types of chargers yet? it would be interesting to see the results. maybe use a multimeter to check the voltage and amperes the battery holds after a charge. its probably best to test two sets of new batteries on the same camera/flash unit for more accuracy and precision.

From what I've seen so far, the quick charger does well. I'm still on the first charge even after 4 or 5 outtings with my flash unit in use on the camera. I don't use the flash that much, but in the past using 2000 mAh batteries...I'd be lucky to get 2 outtings with flash in use before the flash started taking too long to cycle. The new batteries I'm using are the 2400 mAh...so I'm sure that has something to do with the extra life per charge. Anyway, from what I can tell so far, it's going to work out great for me.
