Park wildlife and scenes
Thought I'd share some pics I took at a park on the Texas A&M campus (which I attend). Comments/critiques welcome! I'm new to slr photography and took these with my just-purchased Konica Minolta Maxxum 5D and the kit lens, which I love so far (despite only having 6MP). Enjoy!
I know, I kinda botched the composition on this one what with chopping the white duck's behind off and all...

I understand that 6MP is still a lot and that resolution doesn't really have anything to do with whether a picture is good or not...I just mean that compared to other dslr cameras on the market today, 6MP is a bit low and it gives me less freedom with cropping, mainly. True, I'm not in the habit of cropping my pictures much, but it would be nice to at least have the option to zoom in close on something without having it lose sharpness quite so fast. But compared to my crappy 3MP P&S that I had before, it's awesome!

I have a 350D that is 8MP. So? Does it make me a better one? Maybe a 45MP? No way!
It's not about equipment, it is about that "strange" guy behind it.
Yes, I confess, I DO dream about the perfect lens or having more MPix... when I should focus on my skils...:cry

Since you asked for critque
The first one is a neat scene with the birds on the steps, I think it would look better not backlit, and with the entire scene in focus. Very tough to get that much DOF though.
The second one shows a nice contrast between the white goose and the mallard. The goose appears somewhat overexposed.
Nice low down angle on the third one.
Nice landscapes, like the sun coming through the branches

6 mp is more than enough. Before this year my main camera was a 4 MP D2H. Its really not aboiut the megapixels its what you do with them that counts.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
