Some pictures taken around College Station, TX and along Highway 14 going toward Dallas...

I upped the contrast and darkened the previous two shots quite a bit. I know I lost a lot of detail by making the entire foreground black, but I like the silhouette look...thoughts?

Try exposure stacking that first shot to make it REALLY pop! Try either CS2's HDR tool (which I have yet to make work) or check out the tut in Pop. Photo and Imaging this month.

I'm currently using Photoshop Elements which has a way to lighten shadows and darken highlights, which tries to do the same thing. I used this somewhat in that picture (the light/dark contrast was even greater before). The only problem, is if you use it too much 1) looks unnatural and 2) there is a glow along the horizon where the sky wasn't darkened much (although I may be able to adjust the edge tolerance in PSE). I didn't take multiple shots at different exposures, so I can't manually exposure stack it, but thanks for mentioning it because I hadn't thought of or heard of that technique before! I appreciate the comments.
