I used merge to HDR to combine 3 images - -2.00ev, 0ev, and +1.97ev - of California St in San Francisco. What I didn't do is shoot with a tripod :cry So yes I know that it is mis-aligned (and yes I chose the try to align images option in HDR) so try to ignore that wee little factoid and let me know if you think I'm on the right track in general please :D

I don't know much about the PS techniques but it's a nice picture.

It reminds me of the old matte paintings that were commonly used for movie backdrops before CGI took over the industry.

    I like it Mike thumb.gif

I like just about everything you've done here.

Personally, if I was pickin' nits, I'd like to see the pedestrians in the lower left just a touch brighter (still silohetted), a little sharpening and a little perspective correction (to correct the "lean" of the buildings on the left). Or, you can do none of that and it still looks fine.

I've shot California St from the other direction (towards the Bay). I like how your shot captures the late afternoon light better and makes some of the buildings look golden. I also like the reflections off the tracks :D

I think you are on the right track thumb.gif
