I happened upon the Western Surfing Association contest #10 while looking to test a recent purchase of a Nikkor 70-210mm f/4-5.6 AF lens.

It was crowded out there.

These were all taken from the cliffs above Steamers in Santa Cruz, CA.

Congratulations! Looks like the new lens performed wonderfully for you! I especially like the first shot showing the the water trail in a circle ... pretty cool! thumb.gif

WOW, I love that water circle!!!!! Steamers is a great place to shoot surfers! But my lens needs to be a bit longer, sigh! Give me a couple of years and my perfect affordable dSLR will appear with one 28-400 zoom lens that's light and has image stabilization! -- Right? :):

    Lovely set!

Where'd you find light today? Just getting home from a motorcycle ride. In
and out of the rain all day along the coast.

Amazingly, the light at Steamers was fine during the late morning. When I left, it was getting dark and getting ready to rain. By the time I arrived back home (over the hill in the SillyCon Valley), it was raining. I guess timing is everything.
