Sunday in particular is my day to go around with my cameras and enjoy my hobby and freedom. (Do not take your freedom for granted!)
I hope you enjoy the captures as much as I do.
I was not even an hour on my photo-trip and I spotted a Yellow Oriole. He stayed long enough to snap two pictures. My day could not go wrong anymore:

I’m still training to get some decent shots of flying birds. It’s something I have to get custom to with my heavy D200 and 80-400mm VR. Here two shots:
# 3 Royal Tern

While Aruba is drying up because of the temporary low sea level and the lack of rain, the Snowy Egrets are more concentrated in small pawns:

One of the nicest things from photography is to be able to concentrate scenes or subjects into frames and pull attention from the viewer. This time I choose to frame some small flowers and a fruit:

No shooting-session is complete without a Blue Heron:
# 9 Blue Heron.

To slap you face with a completely other “bird”, here a panning test shot. Just fooling around with my new 18-200mm VR:
# 10 Airplane Landing.

I see nothing but red x's again.....is that a Nikon thing?
okay...that's better! Very nice shots...looks like a great day. That last one is a VERY BIG bird.

Then there's that awesome last bird. Wow
What seems to be working for me so far (and there are probably better techniques out there) is to set the camera to AI Servo focus and burst exposure. Then, mash the shutter button down when it looks like there might be something in the viewfinder and hope you get something before the buffer fills up. Oh, and tracking, like you're hunting with a rifle seems to help too. But, as you can see if you look at some of my posts, I'm just a very rank amateur at this and all the above might be nothing more than a waste of bits.

I peeked at your galleries and can clearly see the "blast" you have.

Thank for looking at my pics.
I peeked at your galleries and discover some nice BIF pics, however I can not find myself in your technique. I noticed that panning will work better for me and the more I do it, the better it goed. I still have to go a long way. A large Aperture will also help to get a decent sharp shot. The key for me is practice.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
