    Thanks, and sorry, guess they are not as common in other parts of the country:

    this an Eastern Bluebird...this is the male. We put up 'bluebird houses" for them, and they will nest at least once a year in the boxes. A nice rite of spring here in NC.

    Usually little birds are shot up close, but I just love this shot with the tree branches beginning to bud, it just speaks of Spring's arrival. This is one of the loveliest bird shots I've seen. Kudos. clap.gif

    Thanks, saurora! This particular shot was likely 75ft away...but I was trying out a Canon 100-400 L lens, and I was just loving the reach of that beast!
