Went to a local Triple A game today and shot these. The EXIF settings range anywhere from 1/500 to 1/1250 at f/5-f/9. Taken with my Canon 20D, and 300L. I know some of the backgrounds are alittle busy, but couldn't help that. Also I was shooting through the net just above the home dugout.

Very nice. Looks like you had some great light! The last few softball games I've attended have been dark, gloomy and cold:cry.

You've captured some nice action. However, I was noticing most of the faces
are OOF. Compositionally, 5 is probably the best with 6 being a close second.

Looks like you had a great time!

Yea I think it had alot to do with the netting that was in front of me. It would try to focus on it then jump to the player. Played that game all day long.

It could be. Often, AF trys to find the thing nearest or with the most
contrast. Instead of using all the AF points, try the center point or depending
on your camera, another which is as accurate as the center point. With the
netting, if you've got AI Servo enabled, that might also be responsible for
    poor focus.

I shoot 100% center focus, that was one of the things I changed on my camera as soon as I got it. And I didn't use AI Servo as I was focused on the pitcher and batters so.
