used store in NY

Hi, im about to visit Ny (april 21st week end) and i was wondering if there was some good used store that someone could refer me. lense, flash, filters etc but used. it can be in around Ny since i'll have access to a car. thanks in advance!

I think, in general, the best place for used lenses is Adorama. B&H also has used stuff. These are the only places I have found were you can consistently find large amounts of used equipment that is in good order. You might get lucky on something otu in Jersey or up in Westchester, or elsewhere in the city, but sice you are in NYC for a short time, you likely won't find anything. Also, why wadte time hunting for obscure shops when you could be taking photos?

With B&H and Adorama, you really can't go wrong.

thanks you we tought of b and h actually, we'll try to spend time doing photography but since we are canadian if we manage to find some good deals we'd be happy

I shop at Adorama and B&H. Adorama has a bigger used supply and their ratings are conservative in my experience. Over the last few years I have probably spent pretty close to even at both sites and never had an issue.

B&H is really cool because for years I have seen Henry Posner jump into a forum and resolve an issue.

also have a look at KEH-they are a really good second hand dealer in atlanta-deliver as described and on time-very conservative ratings on condition

Admittedly I have not been there for a few years, but they are still in business, so try Lens and Repro, on west 17th St. close to Fifth Ave. FotoCare on west 21st St. close to 6th Ave is also a must, drop by they are all friendly as I recall. Be sure to check the bullitin boards, always informative.
