That's right folks, it's back! Your chance to win a free year of smugmug, PLUS a $40 credit for printing through smugmug. If you are already a subscriber, smugmug will extend you for one year!

Here's how it works:

Andy's coming up on his 20,000th post. All you have to do is guess the day, hour and minute (am or pm!) closest (without going over!) and you will win 1 year's free subscription to smugmug and $40 credit for prints made through smugmug.

All submissions and judging will be based on NYC time. There will be a closing date for entries, but that has not been determined yet. There will be 48 hours notice before we close the contest. You are encouraged to get your entries in soon!

The deadline for entries has passed. Good luck to all who entered!

[EDIT: ALL ENTRIES MUST BE IN BY JUNE 19, 2006 AT 7AM, NYC TIME. GET YOUR ENTRIES IN!]

NO GUESSES IN THIS THREAD! All submissions are to be made to me by PM. If you post your guess in this thread you will be disqualified.

After you PM your guess, post a message in this thread saying "PM sent, I'm in!" Heckling is encouraged.

Moderators are not eligible.

One guess per customer. Your submission is final. No changes.

Humungus is the final judge and is our eagle eye for any irregularities.

PM sent I'm in. Andy...you coordinate this to make me the winner, and I'll send you a B&G fried pie (actually, I'm still working on how to get them, but if I can get them, and you make a winner out of me, I'll send you one). A specialty found only in the Winston-Salem area.

    OK, I'm in!

Wow, it's remarkable... took 23 months for Andy to post 10k and only 5 months to rack up the second 10k.

Clearly, we're keeping him busy 'round here! :D

PM sent, I'm in! You know, I thought Andy was kind of a quiet guy.....all I have heard since joining this forum is that he's a heavy eater, never heard nearly as much out of him as the rest of the mods!!! I've been waiting for him to de-lurk.....:D

    Ahem.

Sure, Andy's posting. And Gus is keeping things on the up and up (just the threat of Gus is enough to scare someone straight), but don't forget, that *I'm* the one keeping track of all this, and I'm not perfect. I *could* make a mistake that *might* be in your favor if *something* were to happen.

    Just sayin'.

Oh, and Andy, for dropping me out of the whole bribe thing...well, let me just say, watch your back.

A year subscription and $40 credit for printing can be bought for $5.49? That's 'reasonable'...

Ahhh poor awais It's not as simple as average posts per day as the forum already calculates that for us.

Andy's posting rate is growing exponentially on a daily basis. The real trick here is to be able to figure out his the rate at which his posting has been increasing over the last 5 months. Then try to guess where it is going to pleatue at or if it is going to recede to a lower number of posts per day. then figuring by the growth rate, his current average, trends in his travel, time spent away from dgrin, etc. What the most plausible date and time the 20,000th post event will take place. it took him 23 months to hit 10,000 posts, and only 5 months to add another 7,040 posts to that. That is one hell of a growth rate.

Who has the formula figured out?

    cough cough
The real reason moderators are ineligible from voting is that we already know the exact day and time of post #20,000. And yes, any moderator can be "bought."

Food, beer, Cherry Ripes, cash, a Canon 400 5.6... it don't matter. It just has to be interesting to me.

    Just sayin'. :D

Oh, and the rumor that Andy's computer will be auto-posting replies while he's away in Utah is just that; a rumor.
