Rifle with a scope

I know it sounds strange, had the joy today of having a lot of police at my home. My crime was taking pictures of some kids beating the crap out of my tree with a baseball bat. For some reason my rebel xt with kit lens was a sniper rifle with a scope. :dunno

Shame I can't post the picts, the police took the memory card after viewing the photos and laughing about it. Should have that back in a day or two.
Some days I have to wonder about the brains of some people.

Geeze - Imagine if you'd had like a 500mm mounted instead of a kit lens...

If they were on your property, and you felt endangered wouldn't that have been legal to have a rifle with scope (US)?

Nope...maybe in Texas, but even then IIRC not without fair warning. But no, in the vast majority of states you cannot point a gun at people who are on your property. You can't even shoot a robber in your own home if his back is towards you.

Heh, I did think of that, asked one of the police what would have happened if I was useing my tokina 80-400. He laughed after seeing it and said "That would be a rocket launcer clap.gif "

And for the point a rifle at them question, 1 I don't own a gun, 2 unless there are in the house I can't shoot them with a gun thats not here or have. In other words I have kids and would never keep a gun here, worst thing I own is a 2 inch pocket knife. ) No laughing please... rolleyes1.gif

Who needs fiction when real life can be so strange )

It's just not fair game if his back is to ya. Ya gotta get his attention so you can see the white in his eyes when he realizes he's about to bit the bullet literally. :D Besides as much as I am not against guns and would have no problem with owning them. They seem like the lazy mans way out. I'm much more partial to the sword. As long as they don't see me till the last minute I should be fine. Just gotta make sure they see me at the last minute so no one can claim they were running away.
