These are the first photos of the coast I've ever taken. Any suggestions for coastal shots the next time I go to Oregon?

    #1 is really good because of the way the clouds sort of mimic the curvature of the bay.

    the dirt plataeu in the forground is a bummer.

    i would take a good "A" frame ladder, or look for slightly better framing opportunities.

    shoot early

    shoot late.

    More pics from Oregon Coast...
    You might be interested in some more pics of the area. I think I recognise Cape Arago. Right down the road from where I live.

    There were several nice overlooks around Newport, both north and south. That was my first time there and I got the impression that you could throw a dart at the local map and come up with some great scenics.

    This one is similar to your first;

    And there are a number of lighthouses:

    I just set up several Oregon coast 'by area' albums
    Nice shots...

    You might want to check out the part of Oregon you will be visiting....

    Most area album pics are organized in a North to South direction of travel.

    Great compositions on the first two images...
    Maverick,

    Your shots are beautiful. My favorite, is the first one.

    A UV Haze filter comes in handy, for me. I love "Coastal" shots, as well. My favorites are taken near dusk, when the colors explode! :D
