As I mentioned previously, I got back from my trip to California and Oregon, and visited the Redwood Rainforest near arcata and the oregon border. I've got a few shots of me and my friend Jed (he's the one wearing red) conquering the trees.
This photograph we had to clear some of the shrubs and ferns out of the way just to sit down, but we did it with as little damage to the forest as we could, mainly by laying our backpacks on top of it instead of actually cutting it, we just held them down.
These two photos were taken while in a giant Redwood tree. It's trunk and one of its branches was all that was left, but it was supporting the growth of numerous fullgrown trees. He might look like he's on the ground, but he's standing on the moss and fern growth on bark about 25 feet off the ground. What an amazing sight it was. Next time, I'll bring rope, so I can get the guts to climb higher and take more photos.
