I finally got a chance to go out and do some quickie shots with my new camera this afternoon (courier dude delivered it on Tuesday). Wow! I can't believe these were shot at ISO 1000. It was also raining when I took these. I loooove my new camera! :lust (click on photo for exif)

You've already got more talent than most, I wish I had your eye for light. I always enjoy your shots, especially the lighting and compositions you come up with.

Thanks Skippy. I was originally going to get the D200, but it's been backordered for weeks everywhere I looked. I finally broke down and ordered the 5D. This one should last me for quite a while. :):

Thanks Tristan. I upgraded from an 828. I like the fast RAW, fast autofocus, high ISO performance, and simply better picture quality. But I really miss the waist level shooting I had with the 828.

Congrats on the 5D. I'm still shooting my 828, but soon will have a 20D. I'm keeping the 828 as it will always have that niche to fill. I love shooting with it in public places kinda incognito. People don't realize you're taking pictures with it sitting on your lap or holding it down at your waist. Since I'm short (5'3 barely) I find myself using it overhead quite often also.

I won't miss the sloooooooooow RAW, AF and noise.

Congrats again, waiting to see some more of your shots from that 5D

Thanks Dana. I agree, I got my best candid photos shooting from waist level. But the super slow raw and noise at high iso finally pushed me to upgrade. Congrats on you 20D. Looking forward to pics from your new camera as well.
