Here is one bird that I thought that I would not even get close to, but it turns out that this guy was not shy at all.

Very nice! I live in MN...they don't seem to get down to our neck of the woods.

Thank you for the kid words, and yes this duck was in the mood to pose for me. They sure are a very neat duck, and the funny thing is that the following weekend never to be seen again. Maybe next year.

Thanks for the kid words Rene. It's always the way when you see an image that you love and yet it's not in your area at all. I have seen so many nice birds, and yet we don't have them here. Darn it that is not fair. But that's the way it is.

    thanks again

Very nice Dennis. Pintails truly are beautiful ducks. I've heard them called the "Greyhound" of ducks due to their sleek outline on profile. Though yours looks a little "chunky" binge.gif compared to the ones in my neck of the woods. Perhaps the feed is better in your area.

Heres an article on more info on range etc. http://www.birds.cornell.edu/AllAboutBirds/BirdGuide/Northern_Pintail.html

Thanks for the nice kind words on this image. I just love seeing this guy again, they are so nice to photograph. As for his weight problem, well he is just going to have to work this off.

I will check out this link right after I reply to your message.

    Thanks again for the comments.

    Wow! Great picture!

Is the nose really transparent or it just looks that way?
