Hi, I bought this lens on ebay, and it arrived yesterday. It does not fit my D70 though...
Is there a nikon shooter on board who knows a LOT about bodies and lenses?
Can this lens fit on the bajonet I have on my D70???
It seems to be a lens out of the sixties... It is in devine shape, and works, I just need to know wheter it will fit the nikon D70 body... Some say yes, others say no...
I need to know wether I need to send it back to the seller...

I think George caught it. Sounds like you got a pre-AI version of the lens. John White has been doing conversations for some time now, and should be able to help you. BTW, on the aperture ring, is it smooth all the way around? (where it meets the body) Or does it have cutouts that looks like the base on this copy?

It looks like the one you are showing here, but I can't recall, and as it is wrapped up already to send to John White, I can not tell you.
Thanks guys for jumping in... I was pretty desperate yesterday, as I thought I had wasted my money...
It might still be a good buy if it can be converted... (I think I need the B-conversion and that one should be OK then)

That seems like a pretty inexpensive conversion. Good luck with it.
