He was most obliging. Nicest Great Blue Heron I have met in a long time. Good thing, too. He was the only bird at the Boone Hall watering hole most of the time. He was taking a stroll down the dirt rd that divides pond from marsh, when I came up........with the wrong lens on, for that, of course. But I did get these, and more!

(I sat under the shade of a tree, for the most part, and just snapped away. Got in closer for the above shot and a few others. Most enjoyable way to spend an hour or two of photography waiting for a bird to fly. Was wishing someone would take MY picture!)

I like your poster image quite a bit.:): I always like your posters, they really set your images off nicely.

One suggestion that I might make, is that the birds eye is in the shadows while the rest of the bird is in the sunlight. If the bird had turned its face ever so slightly, the eye would be sunlit also.

I would certainly have loved to join you sitting there in such lush surroundings waiting for birdies.
Nice crisp, clear, sharp shots thumb.gif

Yeah, we could have called for "iced drinks", all sorts of good stuff. Quietly of course.

It was nice, they were setting up Easter Stuff for a huge sunrise service, but that was not by me. And all the tourists were elsewhere, many of them, but elsewhere. Just me and the bird and the tree.

Bill, who could have been our waiter, he was sitting in the shade at a picnic bench. I think I was more comfortable.

    Thanks, Ed.

    Pathfinder, thanks!

I will have to talk to that bird! If he is to be my sole GBH model, he is going to have to watch the light when he poses. I am doing good to get the correct lens on, :): .

Thanks, Dick! I love to see these birds "thinking". And this bird did his share of it!

Very nice set Ginger. Lovely bird. As path said if he would have turned his head just a tad in that first one, it would have been perfect.
