I just started processing my pics from Easter week and thought I would share a few. As you probably know, Spain is overwhelmingly Catholic and Easter is taken seriously. These were taken at one of the many processions that happen all over the country.

richard, what a very nice series. captures well the solemnity of the event, and the choice of black and white makes it more powerful. such beautiful, dignified women..........

Black and white was an obviously excellent choice!!! Great shots, Richard. All the lace looks so pretty....and the women all look so strong.

Do you have any pics of the guys in pointy hats? I've seen that a few times, but never in a decently sized version.

And the men are all good looking. :D (If you're not a Garrison Keillor fan, well, never mind...it would take too long to explain.)

Thanks Saurora. I used B&W partly because I could bring out the detail in the lace better that way.

Yes, I did get a few, but I don't think they're very good...problematic lighting and crowds. I'll post something in a day or two probably.

I have lived in Spain for many years but being American, guys in pointy hats still give me the creeps. I don't think I'll ever get used to it.

    Thanks for looking.

yes, dignified is a well chosen description. This is a nice set.
Do you have any more - a bit more cheerful this time, I'm sure the Sunday isn't so solemn.

Thanks Adrian and Andrew. I just posted a new thread with some more colorful shots of the scene, including some pointy hats for Justiciero. Not sure I would call any of it cheerful, exactly, despite the color.
