Few from today in Oregon's Columbia Gorge

Trying to maximize my spring time shooting this week before work starts next week. Spent a few hours in the Gorge today and the fog and light was pretty cool....helped create views that isolate details and provide a different perspective on a commonly photographed place. Hope you like!!! Most are very little if no PP except sharpening.

This is part of the east side of Crown Point in the gorge....saw the fog isolating this point on the ridge which would otherwise be blended into a like background as the ridge rises higher than this point behind it.

I have many shots of Wahkeena Falls in my gallery, but my goal today was different compositions than I normally shoot. Used a longer lens to compress this section of the falls.

This shot was keeping in the new perspectives theme....Multnomah Falls is one of the absolutely more photographed falls in the world...so finding newer perspectives is often a challenge. Tried this one out for size finding the trees paralleling the falls as fog spilled over the hill works as unique.

Moved the camera into horizontal perspective to try and get a little more of the surrounding area....yet keeping with the theme of the other shot.....was pleased that after blending to differently processed shots of the same RAW file I was able to maintain the fog on the left hand side softly dissipating.

Hope you all like....tomorrow I visit the Japanese Gardens

Appreciate that!!! Their are 10 easily accessed falls in the are, and close to 20 falls if you have your hiking boots. Glacial melt keeps the streams going all year round.

These are great. I love the moss in #2, really makes me feel like home (which was in Seattle). thumb.gif

Thanks Chris....I keep honing my technique....and revisiting my areas close to me. It's how Ansel Adams perfected his. ;) Stomping the same ground OVER and over again.

Nice job getting different angles on Multnomah, so many of them look the same. I really like the way you handled the fog and the lighting. thumb.gif
