Why yes it is
Been several weeks (or so it seems) since I've had the time or the light to
shoot.
I know everyone says the sun should be at the 1-2 position but you know,
trying something different isn't such a bad idea either. Here are a few from
the other day.

And down in Santa Cruz. The first one kinda looks a bit like a Mayan
Temple?
This next one adds to the temple feeling. A rock carving in the
sandstone cliffs.
Enjoy.

going to work out. I'm happy with it even if it does break the rules
I will often shoot into the sun for a few shots when im out & about. Hey its about light..no-one said how much.
I agree, I'm not a big IR fan, but it really works in that first piccy. Rules/schmules... as long as it looks good!

The 10-22 must be a pretty well desinged optic to not have IR flare when the sun in shining into the optic.
