Hello,

I am in my trail phase with Smugmug and I have a question (I am sure I'll have a few more later on :): ) but, let me ask my first question.

Is there a way to download one of my galleries without having to order a copy?

Thanks,
Brian

    Another Question can you point me to some information on the different products for prints, example what is the difference from common prints and digital prints? I want to make sure I understand correctly.

    Thanks again,
    Brian

    Hi Andy,

    A few more questions is there a place to check Sumgmug network status or when you are doing some sort of maintenance? I ask because I am having a problem staying logged in today and also when I try to change the page style nothing happens. Which may mean some work is being done and possible has not fully replicated throughout the site.

    My other Q, is there a way to have the “Traditional” style page display all of the photos on the entire page?

    Part two, if yes can you make it so the photo size displays a little larger the default?

    Thanks again Andy, hey when do you get to shoot photos you are always here?

    Is www.brianlowe.net CNAME Aliased to www.smugmug.com ? I ask, because the symptoms you describe are what happens when you are forwarded, not CNAMEd. Can you verify?

    Another new question
    Hi Andy,

    Is it possible for example to have a gallery titled Macro then when you enter the galley you have sub-gallery's i.e. one Flowers, one Bugs and so forth or would each one have to be it's own galley?

    Thanks and I am sure this wont be my last question, lol

    Organization goes main page>categories>sub-categories>galleries>photos. So, you can't put a gallery inside a gallery, but you can use categories and sub-categories.

    I am so confused :confusedI am sure it's not this hard but I am stuck, lol3.gif.
    I have seen some sites on SM where on the home page they have a gallery, let’s say titled "people" when you click on the people gallery it opens to another page with gallerys"friend" "family" "old girl friend" or something like that. Now you click on "family" and you go to the "family gallery with all the photos in it. I have a mental block going on here how do you do that?

    This is what I am trying to do I want to have on my home page something like "Macro" then when you click on Macro you then go to Flowers - Bugs if you click on flowers you go into the flowers (macro) gallery or if you were to click on bugs you would go into the bugs (macro) gallery.

    I have seen home pages like this, what I am missing here. I know this can’t be that hard to do I’m just completely stumpedyelrotflmao.gif. I need coffee, sleep :snoreor divine intervention. Lol

    Try, try, try again
    Laughing.gif---The fact I can’t explain what I want to do is probably part of the problem. It’s been a long month and were only 4 day’s into it…lol

    Ok I’ll try again,

    On my home page www.brianlowe.smugmug.com I have my galleries. Macro- Flower, Macro- Bugs, Descanso Gardens I, Descanso Gardens II, Descanso Gardens III, Costa Rica and so on.

    This is what I want to do:
    May I have one “Macro” titled gallery on my home page then when you click on the macro gallery it opens to “Macro – Flowers” & “Macro Bugs”.

    ...........
    Flowers
    Macro:
    ...........
    Bugs

    And Flower like this

    .............
    Desconso Gardens I
    Flowers:
    Descanso Gardens II
    .............
    Descanso Gardens III

    Does this help? If not I am reachable by phone—(LMAO)

    I think I am getting categories and sub-categories confused and/or how they are used in smugmug land. And don’t you dare point to the categories and sub-categories page I did read it and obviously I don’t understand it---- Sorry for being so brain dead at the moment---J

    When you are logged in, look at your front page. Just above all of your galleries, you will find a an option to choose between "display galleries" and "display categories"

    Choose display categories. done :D

    Just make sure all your galleries are part of the categorie you want them to be part of.

    EDIT: there is an illustriation of it here in the 3rd post

    Background Opacity Question
    Noob-head yelrotflmao.gifis back with another question…:):

    I am adding some customization to the css for the "Midas touch" theme Andy posted.
    I have added a back ground image on my home page that repeats. I need to lighten or change the opacity of the image how would I code this”

    Here is my background code thingy stuff:
    body.homepage {
    background-attachment: fixed;
    background-image:
    url(http://brianlowe.smugmug.com/photos/68012955-L.jpg);
    background-repeat:filter: ; ;
    background-position: left top;
    }
    What is the code to set the opacity at lets say at 50% and where do I put it in the above code?

    Thanks
    Brian
