    Thanks Prez, Cristian, and Scott!

The first shot was my first pano actually using a tripod, and I think I'm going to make a nice big print of it. The light wasn't the best on the middle two, but I still like them. The last one of the Patriarchs was hand held (morning light), and I'm really happy with the way it came out.

Definitely want to get back there when my son is old enough to hike!

They could all use a bit more contrast & saturation. :)

You're right... I have not done any post work on these except the merging. Not even the basics like setting a black point.

I just updated #3 (Sunset Point), and it definitely looks a bit better.

I tried a search and couldn't find anything, what's the Margulis treatment?

    Chris,

These are good, but they can be MUCH better. Check up on our "How To" section, and follow the steps in Pop1 and Pop2. You'll be pleased, I'm sure deal.gif

Sorry if I was cryptic. Dan Margulis wrote a book on color correction in Photoshop using the LAB color space. One of his many examples uses canyon shots, so I thought it was appropriate. You can get an excellent summary of the book here. Lots of people on Dgrin have had good results by following this method.

Chris, these are going to be fantastic! I feel like I'm "there" in that first shot. Be sure to post when you finish processing! thumb.gif

Thanks for the encouragement, Andy, and the linky, Richard, and the compliment, Saurora...

I'm going to try and work on these tomorrow! It's amazing what a different shooting panos from a tripod can make (even without a pano head).

    Thanks, Nik and Angelo!

I did a little bit of "pop" work on 1, 3 and 4, and replaced the files on Smugmug. So if you want to see them, reload your cache. (I think shift-Reload on the page works in Firefox).

Not sure I'm 100% happy yet, but there's some improvement. Thought they were a bit big to duplicate in this thread.
