Here are some pics from the Boston Marathon (April 17th 2006).
You can find the entire gallery here:

These are some samples: (most pics are shot at IS0320 or ISO400, all of them with a 70-200mm f/2.8 VR lens, VR switched on; some PP, no noise-reduction):
Go Gary:
Rita Jeptoo, Kenya (2:23:38 Winner)
Robert Cheruiyot, Kenya (2:07:14 Winner)
Meb Keflezighi, USA (CA) (2:09:56 3rd)
Cramp!!!
Caught!
I learned that panning is an art in itself. The day was cloudy, so i had to choose between a large aperture or a lower shutter speed (using ISO400). When shutter speeds are 1/250 or lower, bad panning technique gives soft pictures. I choose larger DOF, so lower shutter speed... i need better panning technique.
Enjoy

I can't grasp the notion of time.
When I hear the earth will melt into the sun,
in two billion years,
all I can think is:
"Will that be on a Monday?"
