OS-X security flaws in image files reported

I don't want to start yet another OS flame war here, but Mac users should probably take note of this report from C|net News. Just a reminder that no computer software is completely safe and even if you're on a Mac you ought to take reasonable precautions when surfing the Web or checking email.

    I'm shocked!

    I did find this to be rather interesting, and very different to the hullabaloo that surrounds every Windows security risk.
    Apple believes the public disclosure of security flaws doesn't help anyone, a position shared by most software makers. "We don't feel that our customers are better served by public disclosure of potential issues," Tribble said. "We think that in the general case, people who need to know about issues are the ones that can actually fix the bugs."

    Ironic that the company with the Big brother ad is exhibiting Big Brother tendencies. naughty.gif
