help needed - bulk uploading from Linux?

I need to load 30K+ photos from my current Linux (Redhat WS 4) webserver at the office to smugmug. I have T3+ connection to the internet from this machine so bandwidth is not an issue.
Does anyone know of software that will allow me to do this?
sm_tool.py (the python software) was my first choice but it seems to have a problem. It loads about 20 very fast and then it slows way down. Overnight it only uploaded ~500 pics. This is worse than sendtosmugmug from my home WinXP machine which is on a DSL line.
What are the other alternatives to upload in bulk?

I have a beta extension for Firefox that may be useful. It's been awhile since I tested it on Linux, but if ur interested, send me a PM.

This is a very nice extension but won't solve my problem of uploading 30,000 photos at once.
Certainly someone else has had to deal with this before?
thanks for any help out there!
