I've been trying to come up with an idea for 63 and have been coming up dry.

On my way home from a friend's house I moved the camera from the car seat to the dashboard and fired off a few shots. Any reaction to any of these?

Can't say any of them are great, although 4030 is growing on me.

I like the idea, but if there was someway you could get the lights a little straighter it would really make it cool. I know it would be hard to stabilize a camera in a car, but maybe at a redlight or something, as cars pass you could try it.

I dont think you need to make the camera more stable. I like the squiggles. I especially like #2 - just crop out the right 1/3 of the frame.:D

I agree with swinton, the second photo looks good, just nothing going on on the right hand side.

How much manipulation is allowed? I was under the impression they should be pretty much as shot.

Only if it specifies no post editing. You can, just let everyone know what you did.

Good idea - I was going to do the same type of shot Friday night on my way home from work! Laughing.gif
#1 and 2 (2 with the crop) are the ones I like.

In number one I was going around a curve. The lights are stationary street lights and a car parked on the roadside.

I'll give cropping out the right side a try. I'm struggling with that a bit. It's a semi-populated area, and when you drive down the highway you're struck by the contrast of the absolute darkness to the right and the traffic on the left.

I need to play with it a bit.

Like others have said already - the second pic is almost there.

Maybe if you can suspend the camera from the car roof or something you'll probably have a straighter set of lines?

I think (at least for now) I'm settling on this:

Tightened up the crop to lose the darkness on the right. I also played with a square format, but liked this better.
