I don't know if this forum is the right place for this, maybe it should have been in "other cool shots" because there's no field or streets....:scratch

Anyways - what does everyone think?

Thanks,

I think it's a great contender for the ongoing Challenge 63 "Long exposure". I was exercising the same idea, but your execution is far more dramatic thumb.gif

That was my first thought on seeing your photo. The second thought was that there was a lot of haloing around the tree branches (white outlining). Is that due to your sharpening, or the in-camera sharpening? If you could fix that, I think you have a contender.

Thank you both for your kind words about the photo.

I guess I should mention that I didn't realize there was a contest for long exposure's going on. rolleyes1.gif I have a terrible attention span, and keeping up with contests isn't something I do well. lol3.gif (let alone shooting on purpose for one!)

There was no in camera sharpening - I kind of over sharpened (usm) in post because, to my eye anyways, it seemed to add to the drama of the shot. I saw, and didn't mind the haloing.

I know it's not technicly right, but, I acually up-ed the pixels in usm to highlight it.

Course, I wasn't planning on any contests either - I just go for what I think adds to the shot. But then I'm generally an idiot, so, what do I know? 1drink.gifthumb.gif It also looks nice printed - the white around the limbs draws your eye to it from all the way across the room. I guess to me, there's never been a wrong if I don't any know better, you know? ne_nau.gif

Edit: the contest is a moot point - i took this shot nearly a year ago! :cry
