I have some old manual focus lenses for the Pentax K1000 I have and I want to know if there is a Pentax mount to EOS adapter. I know there is a screw mount but the lenses I have are not screw mount. From what I've read I'm guessing that the one I have is a bayonet mount (K mount) but I'm not completely sure. Here are some photos if someone can tell me what type of mount it is.

So what mount is this? Is there an EOS adapter I can buy so I can use them on my 20D?

Hmmm. Well I found an adapter but it says that it will adapt K mount lenses onto APS digital format. Isn't the 20D an APS-C format?

The thing is also $175.:uhoh Seems like a lot for a small adapter.

If you find a Pentax K-Mount to EOS Adaptor, you will be my hero. I was under the (repeatedly reinforced) opinion that a succesful one did not exist. I have thousands of dollars of old K-Mount glass in a bag!

Like I said the one on cameraquest has one but it's only for APS sized sensors. I'm also pretty sure that it might just be for the newer K-Mount glass. I did see a site where a guy modified an adapter to fit some old manual K-Mount glass, but he said it only worked on a few lenses.:cry

    I only have a 28mm 2.8, two 50mm f/2's, and a 75-200. But I would still love to use them on my 20D.

    adapter
if its the cameraquest one it will fit the 20d

his adapters are fairly pricey to begin with due to tooling up costs etc but they work well

the price may come down in the future if you can wait.

regarding cost ,you must also consider the cost of replacing your manual lenses with eos lenses and the adapter price starts to look very reasonable.

you may be able to get cheaper ones but so many of them are at the wrong tolerance and give lens registration problems leading to problems at the infinity end.

email stephen gandy at cameraquest and he will answer your specific questions-he is a good bloke.
