Not your usual competition. This was the statewide mathematics competition Finals in Illinois, held at the University of Illinois at Urbana.

Great bunch of kids from everywhere in the Illini. Here's our group of kids from Newman Central Catholic HS:

Ziggy, math is not a sport............... just kidding, I bet some of the stuff they do is really hard, I'm in college algebra right now and its a pain, I hope I can pass with a B. Math has to be one of the hardest subjects. Congratulations to your son.

    Thanks Illuminati,

One of the kids got a special award for winning in his individual competition category, ... four years in a row!

Here's one of the final group questions they asked, the first one (considered to be fairly easy):

... and here's how that one looked before:

    1) Levels adjust
    2) Curves adjust
    3) Radial Overlay to compensate for uneven light from the overhead projector
    4) Perspective correction to compensate for the angle of view from me to the image
    5) Lens distortion correction to compensate for both the overhead projection and the distortion from my wide-angle camera lens
    6) Dividing the remaining image into thirds so that I could work on each section to apply individual Contrast and Lightness
    7) A second copy layer overlay, slightly offset to increase line width of the text

(I left a slight "tilt" to the text)

The answer is 4, correct? Its the only number that is not a factor of 210.

    Bill,

Ya got me. I was just there to take "pitchers". Your logic and deduction makes sense however.

You beat me to it...I was just looking at that and was going to reply that 4 should be the answer.
