Someone please tell me that 47th Street Photo is legit? I'm ordering a 30d from them and they are 100 bucks cheaper than B&H which I prefer. I really wanted to buy all from B&H but after Lens, Camera, and Flash I saved about 200 bucks going to 47th Street.
Any info from my fellow dgrinners?

Yes, if there were hundreds of lifetime reviews. Three sounds suspicious for lifetime.

But the lack of reviews is the point: this store has been around for a while, in one guise or another.

damn.. I think I'm gonna cancel that order for sure....
Back to the trusty ole B&H.
A looong time ago when I used be in the photo retail business (mid-1980's owned a one-hour lab and did some camera sales), they were known for giving low-ball pricing but stripping things out of the package like batteries, camera strap, lens cap - and then charging extra for the normally included items.
I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

BUT then I found this info posted on dpreview:

But it still appears that they have fans:

Well I've cancelled the order at 47th Street. The little higher price pays for the security to me.
Thanks Everyone
How long do I have to stare at your avatar to see the trick?

Ordered a Tamron Lens, which 47th Street Photo stated had a 6 year manufacturers warranty. One year later, the lens started to have problems, so we contacted 47th Street Photo and Tamron. 47th Street Photo didn't return calls or emails, and Tamron informed us that the camera we bought from 47th Street Photo did not have a valid serial number and must have been a grey market lens so it was not covered by the warranty. So we are out the lens and the money.
