Stumbled across this on the Tamron website...only wish I were a student :cry

Student Purchase Program

Effective January 1 - May 31, 2006
5 Easy Steps:
  1. Visit your local dealer to select the Tamron products you wish to purchase.
  2. Complete the Educational Purchase Application form.
  3. Present the form with required proof of eligibility to your dealer with your payment.
  4. The dealer will then place a special order for you and pre-register all equipment to you.
  5. Tamron will ship your order within 5 days to the dealer. No drop shipments can be made. Please return to your dealer for pick-up.

    Instructors (teaching at) and Students (enrolled in) university level photography schools, are eligible for significant discounts on Tamron
    products.
    • Purchasing Instructors must present to local Tamron dealer valid identification such as employment ID card and current curriculum listing
    purchaser as an instructor.
    • Note: This program is not intended for the purchase of multiple products for “cage” use. Please contact our office at 800-827-8880
    for multiple-quantity, school purchase pricing.
    • Purchasing Students must present to local Tamron dealer valid identification such as valid ID card and enrollment certification.
