chipped manual focus lens adapter for eos

further to my previous post regarding 5d and manual focus-

it appears that the canon digital eos bodies do not allow focus confirmation with unchipped manual lenses.

an adapter has however been made which includes a chip which tells the camera that there is a lens attached.

so far there is one which allows the use of Nikon F lenses on EOS bodies and gives focus confirmation.

one is being made for the M42 pentax screwmount and a group of manual lens heads on the manual focus forum are going to try and negotiate a bulk discount.

here is a link to the forum for those who are interested-

    Greg,

Unfortunately, all I found was this:

"The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale."

    Something must have happened.

    Thanks,

    Scott,

Unfortunately, the FD was used on bodies with a shorter distance from the mount to the focal plane (than the EOS system), which means that the focus distance is shortened, and a simple mechanical adapter won't retain focus to infinity.

I found an inexpensive adapter at Adorama, but the results are not very good.
