I need to purchase reflectors, but I want to make sure I'm not buying crap. Does anyone out there have any suggestions regarding a good quality brand??

Thanks in advance...

    Hi Jon,

I'm using some Photoflex Litediscs (black and silver). I have a larger oval
that is silver and gold too.

The quality is good and they fold easily. Depending on the size and how
you plan to use them, you should consider a stand and holder. Makes dealing
    with them easier.

How do you plan to use them?

    Thanks for the reply Ian.

I was actually leaning toward PhotoFlex, so that's good to hear. I have stands but I will indeed need a holder for when my wife is not with me.

I mainly want to use them outdoors but I'll experiment with them indoors as well.

    Thanks again!!

There's a nice kit with a bag and three reflectors. Some wonder why gold?
But it helps warm up your subject a bit. For sunset shots, doesn't look as
    'fake' either.

    Good luck!

I have nothing to compare it with but I love the Impact 5 in 1 reflector I got from B&H this week. It has done a really good job and I love not having to carry multiples. You simply unzip, flip, and rezip to change.

I agree. the 5 in 1's are sweet, and usually a bit cheaper than buying two 2-in-1's.

If only my store was high-end enough to carry PhotoFlex, even though our distributor does...

I am going to be purchasing some reflectors for an upcoming outdoor portrait at the beach. I will be shooting some individual portraits, and possibly a small group (3 people). What size reflectors should I be looking at? I know I want gold, since the beach is quite often overcast, and I like adding warmth. Are there some general guidelines to using them along with the existing light source? Or do you just have to experiement moving them around until it "looks right"? How close do they need to be? Any help you can offer would be appreciated.
